Prior to this experience I thought breakfast was basic. Same old same old just whipped up in a not so different way with a not so different flavor. Then I went to The Grill Smuckers.
WOW. That is all I have to say. This is just about the best breakfast sandwich I've ever consumed. The moistness of the bun, the crispiness of the bacon, the perfect consistency of the eggs. This experience was nothing less then amazing. Coming from Texas, places like Dallas pride themselves as 'city of brunch' I can easily say this bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich is better then any breakfast sandwich Ive every purchased.
If you are in philly, you have to go to this place.Located right in the middle of reading terminal market. Tbh my only regret is not buying 2 more.
Price is about $5-6 for each sandwich which is on the higher end but it is relatively big and flavor is worth it. Great bang for buck!

The breakfast wrap was freshly made to order, and service was friendly. They serve breakfast all day!
The pros: There doesn't seem to be a "standard" way that they make it, so it's highly customizable. I got egg, American cheese, crispy bacon, and a hash brown (which highly amused the lady who took my order) in mine. They make it fresh on the griddle, frying bacon to order and seasoning as they cook.
The cons: No real cons, it was pretty standard. A bit small. -

I'd never thought that I would imagine even a possibility of having at least 20 different flavors of beef jerkies, all fresh and locally made. Yes, you read it right. Twen-freaking-ty (at least) different tastes of beef jerkies. A hidden gem for the jerky fans!
On top of that, a man of few words (well, I'm deaf) behind the counter was very generous with the samples and gave me time to appreciate each. I must have tasted almost ten different types. Aye, he's a crafty one. He made suggestions on which one I should sample next, seeing how theatric responses I had to the spiciness of each succession. Each time he suggested, I took it up and nibble. Oh lord, how can a jerky can be so spicy! It should've been illegal (let it be legal, though; this is just an exaggeration of an expression). All the while, he watched me with amusement. I hoped i've made his day. Finally, I settled on a half pound of ol' fashion beef jerky. Worth every penny of it. -

I had a tasty sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich from these guys, on a nice fresh roll with what looked like a seasoned hand made sausage patty, egg and cheese. The bread was super fresh and the sausage had good flavor, although it was a little light on the spice. I added some of their habanero hot sauce and that helped!
The service was good, portion size was big and the hash brown I added although pretty standard was tasty.
The people working there were friendly and the kitchen area appeared clean. Seating is limited and tight so I opted to eat in the open seating area. I would repeat these guys and try something else next visit. -

Excellent option for breakfast sandwiches in Reading Terminal Market! Smuckers has an extensive list of menu items that anyone can find something they like. I ordered my BEC on wheat toast and it was one of the best breads I've ever had. Reminded me of a potato bread. The bacon was nice and crispy and the eggs were super fluffy. They melt the gooey cheese perfectly on the sandwich. All of their ingredients seem super fresh. Not surprising considering the ingredients are likely sourced locally.
You can watch them make the food in front of you. I like that they don't slop together their sandwiches like most places. There's limited seating at their counter but it's a good grab and go vendor.
